Changing Trends:

A Faculty and Teacher, a person who traditionally educates others through the transfer of information found in printed sources by asking students to memorize it. Gone are the days, when we relied on printed materials, the advent of information technology has made the information available at our finger tips, and often comes from unreliable or not vetted sources. Since it is so readily available and so vast, memorization is no longer possible.

Today technology plays most important role in the educator’s toolbox, but to be valuable it must be readily available and networked through worldwide communities.

Our current trends of education are actually a way of telling us how far we have come from traditional teaching. Outside of the classroom, students use a wide range of devices to stay connected. When they step into the classroom, though, in many ways it’s like boarding a plane. They board the flight, fasten their belts, put their study tables up and turn off all their devices. They are cut off from the outside world for the duration of the class and the use of social media and mobile devices, in particular, is off their tables.

Here is the challenge for a faculty to make teaching interesting and interactive; whether it is arts, basic sciences, technical or management education. In order to make this, faculties needs to expand his/her horizon of exposure to both internal (understanding self with leveraging one’s strengths and developing areas of improvement) and external (knowing current trends, industry exposure, expanding network etc.,) faculties.

Our FDP programs aims to enhance these capabilities, along with building skills, knowledge and attitude to improve pedagogies, effective delivery, presentations and behavior skills to become an effective faculty.

The program focuses on

  • Understanding how to stay relevant with the current trends of teaching
  • Different and engaging methods of teaching.
  • How to create value in students’ life.
  • Being asset to the organization
